STALEMATE OF WAR AND TRENCH WARFARE
As the Great War became more furious, the stalemate became worse. Trapping other causing more suicide missions and creation of bigger and better artillery such as stronger machine guns. Along with stalemate came trench warfare. Trench warfare is where two nations were fighting inside trenches. They would dig and fight from the trenches as a way to take cover and move along the battlefield. Being in very close quarters, there was very violent fighting because it was easier to kill bigger groups at once. The trenches could become homes for days being trapped by the enemy.
Trench Fighter Quotes
As a soldier, I survived World War I when most of my comrades did not. -Lester B Pearson
How horrible, fantastic, incredible, it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas-masks here because of a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing. - Neville Chamberlain
We humans do, when the cause is sufficient, spend our lives. We throw ourselves onto the grenade to save our buddies in the foxhole. We rise out of the trenches and charge the entreched enemy and die like maggots under a blowtorch. We strap bombs on our bodies and blow ourselves up in the midst of our enemies. We are, when the cause is sufficient, insane. - Orson Scott Card
All we know is that, at times, fighting the Russians, we had to remove the piles of enemy bodies from before our trenches, so as to get a clear field of fire against new waves of assault. - Paul Von Hindenburg
I wouldn't say God is one of my role models or heroes or personal champions. But Jesus is. He was in the trenches with mankind. -Unknown
